Jessica Hawkins' series Something in the Way inspired this rainbow moonstone layering necklace. The necklace represents the Summer Triangle and star-crossed lovers trying to reach each other across the Milky Way. The three rainbow moonstone stars represent Vega, Altair, and Deneb, and the section of linked moonstones represents The Milky Way.

One version of the story is that Vega was a goddess and Altair, a mortal man. They were lovers that married behind their parents' backs, and her father punished them by putting them in the sky with a rushing river, The Milky Way, between them. The celestial sky was kind to them and made them able to visit each other once a year on the seventh night of the seventh moon when magpies would form a bridge to connect them. Sometimes, though, Altair was not able to make the treacherous journey, and Vega's tears would fall in the form of rain or a meteor shower. So romantic!

This 36" necklace can be doubled or worn long and looks great layered with multiple necklaces.
